Being an artist in the highly competitive music industry is not easy. Switching between creativity and execution can be overwhelming. When I first started, I thought I knew everything there was to know about the art. But as he transitioned from his church’schoir to starting His band and eventually leaving it and moving to Mumbai, he realised that passion alone wasn’t enough. As a solo creator, he often felt isolated and doubted myself. Despite his confidence in his art, he slowly realised that he needed support, investment, and a team to make his mark.
He met another artist with whom he created several singles and albums during this time. Fortunately, as we were working on our album, I came across an opportunity to partner with a label. We had our first music video approved, but just 24 hours before the shoot of ‘Slow ride,’ our team backed out. Night scenes were crucial, and it felt like we were back at square one. However, giving up wasn’t an option. We regrouped, found a new team, and still hit the deadline without losing our vision.
He learned a big lesson from his experience: Challenges are part of the game, but it’s how we handle them that counts. You have to believe in your vision and keep pushing, because success doesn’t just fall into your lap. It takes hard work, determination and fire to fight for it.
